The TLA Tech Team is made up of two children from each class in years 3-6. We meet weekly to discuss and learn about online safety, filtering, new tech and any issues people are having related to online safety or technology.
For Safer Internet Day the team learnt about scams. They created an interactive video assembly for both KS1 and KS2 and presented it to their peers. They explained what scams are, how to spot them and what to do if you get scammed.
The team also adapted their video to be shared on social media.
To celebrate Anti-Bullying Week the team researched all about cyberbullying, they looked at what it is, how to help others if it happens to them and how to help yourself if you are being cyberbullied. The team then made a video which they shared in assembly.
We have a termly online safety newsletter, we will share information about what the children are learning about as well as provide helpful information about how to keep your child as safe as possible online.
Trevithick uses RM SafetyNet and RM SafetyNet Go for it’s web filtering. This was developed in conjunction with the Internet Watch Foundation, UK Safer Internet Centre, South West Grid for Learning and Childnet.
