Healthy Schools Award
The Healthy Schools Award recognises schools and academies that seek to reduce health inequalities, raise pupil achievement and improve social inclusion. Introduced in 1999, by the Department of Health and Department for Children, Schools and Families, the scheme focuses on four criteria: personal, social and health education; healthy eating; physical activity; emotional health and well-being.
Eco Schools Award
Eco-Schools is an international award programme that promotes and awards sustainable practices and environments with the education system. Following a seven step process the programme addresses a variety of environmental themes and places students at the heart of the process.
School Council PADL Awards – bronze, silver and gold
Launched in 2002 by young people from the Cornwall Youth Forum, PADL (Promoting Active Democracy Loudly) is a set of standards for primary and secondary school councils which guide and measure effective student voice, representation and leadership within schools. It is endorsed by Cornwall Council’s Children, Schools and Families Directorate and is compatible with OFSTED requirements.
Financial Management Standards in Schools (FMSiS)
FMSiS was introduced in 2007 as a legal requirement for all schools. It’s purpose was to help schools evaluate, quantify and improve their financial management. The scheme covered five areas: leadership and governance; people management; policy and strategy; partnerships and resources; processes. In 2010 it was withdrawn and replaced with Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS).
