Venture MAT Members:
Philip Robinson – Electronics and engineering employment for over 40 years. Owner of specialist resin business since 1973. School governor for over 20 years, chair for the last 2 years.
Kirsten Horner – Qualified Nursery Nurse. Governor of Trevithick from 2006 – 2014. Original Member of Trevithick Learning Academy on conversion in April 2011.
Bethany Ince – Graduated in 2000 with a BSc from Sheffield University in Human Communication & Its Disorders. Worked for the NHS, initially in informatics, then onto cancer information management and service improvement within Cancer Services. Left the NHS in 2006 to undertake consultancy work on a self-employed basis for the National Endoscopy Project, helping with the roll out of the National bowel Cancer Screening Programme. Chair of Trevithick PTA for a number of years.
Alan Honeybone – Director/Proprietor of Specsavers Camborne since 1988. Director of BID Camborne, former chairman of Camborne Chamber of Commerce and Camborne Round Table. Governor of TLA since 2010.

Alan Honeybone (Vice-chair) – Director/Proprietor of Specsavers Camborne since 1988. Director of BID Camborne, former chairman of Camborne Chamber of Commerce and Camborne Round Table. Governor of TLA since 2010.
Harry Hart – Considerable business experience, currently owning/directing two multimillion pound businesses. Specialist Business Units is a property development company, which renovates and rents commercial/residential buildings. Fire Crest Fire Protection which is a family run fire protection company with over 4,000 Cornish/Devon based customers employing 19 people for conducting fire extinguisher, fire/security alarm installations and servicing amoungst other business legislative requirements services. In addition he holds a position on the marketing board for BAFE, (the equivalent of CORGI/Gas Safe for fire trade). Previously he has chaired a Convergence funded project (£5m) appointed by the RDA. This year he has completed a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Exeter.
Ian Raggett – Assistant headteacher at Mounts Bay Academy, responsible for all outdoors provision and head of year. Qualified to lead a range of outdoor pursuits and holds ‘Mountain Leader Assessor’ status and is a British Canoe Union instructor.
Sean Powers (CEO) – 15 years small and large school headship experience, NPQH, NLE. Director of Cornwall Primary SCITT for 2 years.
Jo Long – Business Manager (CFO) – 23 years school financial experience at both local authority and school level, AAT, CSBM, CIPFA Financial Reporting for Academies, Primary School ‘Business Manager of the Year’ (NASBM – 2013).
Annmarie O’Neill – Previously a Teaching Assistant at TLA (Level 3) and leader of after school provision. Currently undertaking Teacher Training with Cornwall SCITT. HND in Business and Finance and Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Administration. Governor at TLA for 3 years.
Jo Osborne (Diocese Representative) – Currently Diocesan Director for Schools. In my previous existence, I was a Stage Manager and Lighting Designer so am very interested in the arts! I speak French and a smattering of other languages and am a firm believer in the importance of SMSC development through a broad, challenging and exiting curriculum. I have co-ordinated every subject as a teacher and been a class teacher for Nursery to Y4 and have taught various subjects in Y6. Only Y5 eluded me!
Esther Pollard (Diocese Representative) – Esther is the Diocesan Secretary, which is a statutory post for every Diocese and is Secretary in the legal sense not admin. Esther deals with all the Diocesan legal and HR issues and overseas finance and a vast number of other things. She has been a project manager for Oil Companies in Hong Kong in a previous existence and ran a plant nursery as a hobby. She is interested in plans for outdoor education and is keen to be involved in more than just board meetings as appropriate.
