Conference 2012 - "Really inspirational, practical ideas, you can quickly implement, no padding - all good useful stuff."
What a day!
In July 2012 we held our second highly successful literacy conference. Once again we provided schools with the opportunity to take part in high quality training in an inspirational and magical environment. This year we held our ‘Transforming Writing’ conference in our ‘Storytelling School’. Over 100 teachers and school leaders attended the packed day which was expertly delivered by Pie Corbett, with support from Kaye Haywood and the Trevithick team.
The magical day began with delegates being greeted by our very own highway men and fairytale princesses. Pie Corbett then explored how TfW and AfL raises achievement by engaging teachers and children in a powerful literacy curriculum using high quality texts and creative teaching. The highlight of the day had to be observing Pie teach a group of our year 5 children. Our children were amazing and certainly did us proud. Also during the day delegates could choose to attend a variety of different workshops, visit classrooms having the opportunity to talk to teachers and children in each year group, take part in competitions and browse and purchase resources from a variety of educational suppliers.
It was a magical day. Keep your eyes peeled for future training events.
